Why The Dive Academy |
Experience
 We
took the big step of leaving the real world behind
eight years ago, and know there may be many questions
and things you are uncertain about before you make
the step yourself. We are more than happy to share
our experience with you and answer any questions you
have, even non-diving related, that will help make
things easier for you to begin the adventure and lead
the fantastic lifestyle we and many other diving Instructors
around the world enjoy.
Before going into the diving industry we had many
years experience in customer service, so we know what
it takes to make sure our customers get the most from
their time with us. Of the time you spend with us,
only a small amount of that time is spent under water,
so we make as much effort at giving you a good time
above the water as we do below it.
With 8 years experience of Instructing dive courses
and diving the sites around Koh Samui we also know
how to make the most of your precious time under water.
With a PADI Master Instructor guiding your training
up to Instructor level and one of PADI’s most
experienced Course Director’s to conduct your
Instructor training, you can be sure that your training
is the best around.
 The
Dive Academy are a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development
Centre. This shows a commitment to meeting the high
standards of diver training that PADI has in place,
and also shows a level of experience and quality across
all levels of diver training. We have a reputation
for providing very thorough diver training, no matter
what level, and we make sure we show our Divemasters
and Instructors how to become safe and responsible
PADI Professionals.
We are one of the only dive centres on the island
actively offering PADI Instructor level training,
and our PADI
Award Winning Course Director is one of only 49
worldwide to be awarded the prestigious Platinum Course
Director rating. We put a lot of effort into maintaining
our reputation for making sure all of our candidates
receive the best possible training and can begin their
diving career with the knowledge and confidence that
they couldn’t have been any better prepared.
Our Facilities
 The
Dive Academy have two dive centres on Samui. One is
based on the north of the island in Bophut, and the
other is based in north Chaweng on the east coast
of Samui. We have classrooms at both of our centres
and use the swimming pools at both of the resorts.
We have access to the swimming pools at the resorts
all day long, which is convenient if you feel you
need to practise anything, such as the demonstration
quality skills you will need to master for the IDC.
 At
both of our Dive Centres we have modern, air-conditioned
classrooms equipped with large screen TV's which allow
you to learn in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
You can use them at any time during your courses if
you want a bit of peace and quiet for studying.
We have the latest PADI DVD's, manuals and other
reference materials available to help with your learning
and for our IDC’s our classroom is fully equipped
with the latest technology including the latest computer
based training aids PADI provide.
Dive Equipment
 Our
dive equipment is properly maintained and serviced
regularly and we continually replace it to ensure
that we have up to date models for you to use, should
you have any problems with your own kit.
We have a full retail outlet and will give honest
advice on some of the top brand names of diving equipment,
including Scubapro, Seac Sub, Suunto and Aqualung.
We are also a Registered Mares Retailer. If you don't
see what you want in our shop we will take you directly
to the equipment suppliers where you can choose for
yourself from the full range of equipment available.
Environmentally Friendly
 The
Dive Academy are a Project AWARE Go Eco Dive Centre,
which shows a committment to offering environmentally
friendly dive courses and tours and to educating divers
on ways to help prevent further damage to the underwater
environment we enjoy so much.
We also offer a range of Project AWARE Courses to
further your knowledge and skills and to help protect
the marine life at the same time.
Safety
 The
Dive Academy have a 100% safety record and have never
had a customer injured due to a diving accident.
The Dive Academy are sponsors of the SSS Recompression
Chamber on Koh Samui. This means that customers and
students of The Dive Academy can have the peace of
mind to know that in the very unlikely event that
they should need it, they are covered for the majority
of the cost of what can be very expensive recompression
treatment.
We also offer daily insurance cover if your existing
policy doesn't cover you for Scuba Diving.
